About Our Team
Team 5122 The RobOTies consists of students from Old Town High School.
The FIRST Robotics Program is designed for high school students to work with professional engineering mentors during an intense six week build season to design and build a robot to fulfill the given challenge. Students are exposed and gain skills in the areas of mechanical design, programming, teamwork, electrical controls and engineering. Our Fantastic MentorsThe FIRST Robotics program celebrates the collaboration of mentors, engineers, students and teachers. We believe that the best learning comes from working with professional engineers and skilled professionals on hands-on projects. We would like to recognize our fantastic mentors who dedicate their time to improving our team.
Justin Lewin - Science TeacherJustin is chemistry and physics teacher at Old Town High School and is the newest mentor of the team.
Nate Dacy - Electrical EngineerNate got involved with the IEEE members from the University of Maine and quickly became an integral member and mentor for the team.
Mark Bourque - Mechanical EngineerMark is the Engineering Manager at Formtek Maine, a company that specializes in industrial coil handling equipment used by some of the largest manufactures worldwide.
Hank Gunning - Mechnical EngineerHank was one of the primary drivers and designers during our rookie year. Since then, he has faithfully returned to mentor students and coach the driving team. He is currently at mechanical engineering student at the University of Maine.
